People who say that we priests are lonely are either lying or have got it all wrong. We are far less lonely than anyone else. For we count on the constant company of the Lord, with whom we should be conversing without interruption. We are in love with Love, with the Author of Love!

After decades of service offered in love to Christ and His Church, the words of St. Josemaria Escriva, as quoted above, become even more fitting for our beloved father, formator and spiritual director, Rev. Fr. Augustine Famoriyo, who marked his 30th Priestly Ordination Anniversary on Monday, 7th of October, 2019. The seminary community, on this memorable day, offered the intentions of the celebrant to God during the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Augustine Famoriyo himself. At the close of the Mass, Rev. Fr. Joseph Young Aniaga, congratulated the celebrant on behalf of the Seminary community, and prayed for God’s sustenance on him in the coming years. Indeed, the joys of our dear Fr. Ayanfe, as he is fondly called, knew no bounds as he expressed his gratitude to God and to everyone.

In a short interview with the celebrant, Fr. Augustine Famoriyo, who was ordained in the year 1989, stated that never has he felt like leaving the priesthood since he was ordained. According to him, God continues to miraculously affirm his vocation as His priest, even in the face of life’s challenges and trials. We thank God for the gift of the Priesthood in his life and pray for more fruitful years as he continues to serve God in His vineyard.
