NACATHS SYMPOSIUM
Friday, January 17, 2020

The National Association of Catholic Theologians, Bodija Chapter, had an educative session, as she organized a theological symposium for the entire students’ body of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, on the 17th of January, 2020. The session was moderated by Arome Isaiah; a Theology Four student, and three papers were presented by seminarians of the theology department during the symposium: An Introduction of the Document, Admirabile Signum (Asiyanbi Francis), A Summary of Admirabile Signum: The Meaning and Importance of the Nativity Scene), and An Application of the Document, Admirabile Signum (Omeke Gabriel). The various papers presented on this day indicated the relevance of the document to the formation of candidates to the Sacred Priesthood, and these spurred a number of questions, reactions and contributions from the audience, which revolved around the abuse of the Christmas Cribs in churches, the relevance of Christmas Cribs in our time, the theology of the Incarnation, amidst others. The Dean of Seminarians’ Affairs, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Iyamah graced the event with his presence, as he also made his contributions and clarifications on some of the theological issues raised. The session was indeed an enriching and educative one for all present.
