EXAMINATION PERIODS ARE SACROSANT IN THE SEMINARY
Tuesday, June 5, 2018

The formation of candidates to the Catholic Priesthood is chiefly divided into four dimensions: the human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral, as recognized by the Apostolic Exhortation Pastores Dabo Vobis. These areas which interact simultaneously are geared towards preparing the seminarians into “enter into communion with the charity of Christ the Good Shepherd”. However, the intellectual formation specifically provides the seminarian with the rational tools required for the effective proclamation of the gospel. These tools are born out of the appreciation of God and the divine truths in the study of Theology, and an appreciation of man and the world in the study of Philosophy and the human sciences. During the course of these studies, the seminarian is expected to sit for series of examinations in these fields of study to further develop him in the process of formation. It is in view of these that the Seminary of Ss. Peter and Paul, Bodija, Ibadan, began the second semester examinations for the 2017/2018 academic/formation session, for the candidates to the priesthood at various levels. The examination period which started on the 6th of June, 2018, will run for two-weeks, culminating on the 22nd of June, 2018.

Furthermore, the Comprehensive Bachelors in Theology Examinations (B.TH), which marks the final examinations for the candidates in the final year of their Theology programme, shall hold from the 20th – 22nd June, 2018. The written B.TH Examinations shall hold on the 20th of June while the orals shall come up on the 21st and 22nd of June. Examinations in the seminary are highly sacrosanct as they are essential determinants for the progress of the candidate to the next level of formation. We therefore seek the prayers of God’s people as we involve in this important section of our formation.
