The 2nd day of November is dedicated by the Universal Church to remember, honour, and pray for all the faithful departed. The celebration brings the reality of death to our consciousness and invites us to walk always in the path of truth and light, in constant preparation for the inevitable visit of death. On this day, the Church remembers all the Souls in Purgatory who are undergoing purification for the glory of the beatific vision, and prays for their entrance into eternal bliss. In union with the Universal Church, the Seminary of Saints Peter & Paul, Bodija, Ibadan, celebrated three Requiem masses slated for 6:30am, 12:00noon and 4:00pm; for specific intentions, for all the faithful departed and for the Holy Father’s intentions. Added to these was the visit to the cemetery at St. Theresa Minor Seminary, Oke-Are, Ibadan, by some of our formators and seminarians, where prayers and praises were offered to God in honour of the dead. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
