In commemoration of the centenary of the Apostolic Letter, Maximim Illud of Pope Benedict XV (30th November, 2019), His Holiness, Pope Francis, called for and Extraordinary Mission Month to be celebrated throughout the month of October 2019, in order to revive the Church’s missionary awareness and commitment; reinvigorating her zeal and impulse to the work of proclaiming the good news to the ends of the earth. Aside the missionary outreach, which Saints Peter & Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, organized in honour of the Extraordinary Mission Month, the community also had a month novena, where the prayer dedicated for the celebration was said after the daily vespers in the seminary chapel. The end of the Extraordinary Mission Month coincided with the end of the Marian devotion for October, and it was marked with prayers offered to Christ for His Church.
