In utter appreciation to God and for the gifts of his life, his vocation, and indeed a life well-spent, the community of the Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul, Bodija, Ibadan, gathered to honour and pray for one of their own, Lazarus Agbonkhaese – a theology three seminarian of the Catholic Archdiocese of Benin-City–who was called to eternal rest during the last summer holiday. Posted to Regina Mundi Catholic Parish, Evbuarue, Edo State, for his pastoral assignment, Lazarus took ill and was treated at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin City, before the Lord called him home in the early hours of Monday, August 19, 2019. The memorial celebration, organized in his honour by the seminary community, took place on the 12th of November, 2019, having the celebration of the Holy Mass, a novelty match between the diocesan and religious seminarians of the Theology three class, the celebration of Vespers and the recitation of the Holy Rosary, and finally a Night of Tributes, as events of this memorable day. Even as we miss his presence in our community, we commend his soul into the hands of God that he may find perfect peace in His bosom.

May the soul of Lazarus Agbonkhaese and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
