HOME – COMING OF THE ALUMNI SET OF 2017/2018
Wednesday, January 29, 2020

How beautiful it is to have alumni of our dear seminary return to Mother Bodija, for courtesy or to express appreciation. The seminary community enjoyed such moments on the 28th – 29th January, 2020, as the alumni class of 2017/2018 returned home in appreciation to God for the gift of their vocation. Feelings of nostalgia permeated the community as all – students, alumni set and formators – reminisced the beautiful moments when the class of 2017/2018 were students in this noble institution. Having joined at the Vespers (Evening Prayer) on the 29th January, 2020, the alumni class exchanged pleasantries with both students and formators. Afterwards, they proceeded to the students’ refectory where they had an interactive session with the students. Just after that was their class meeting, which was another major reason for their return.

On the 29th January, 2020, the alumni class joined at the community mass. The Class Dean, (Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Ogoh of the Diocese of Issele-Uku) was privileged to be the Chief celebrant, while he was flanked by Rev. Fr. John Irekiigbe of the Diocese of Oyo (erstwhile First Prefect) and Rev. Fr. Emedo Raymond (erstwhile Second Prefect). The Homily for the mass was beautiful delivered by Rev. Fr. Toye Andrew, the Introduction of Classmates was done by Rev. Fr. Michael Idahosa, and the Vote of Thanks by Rev. Fr. John irekiigbe. The HOD of the Philosophy Department, Rev. Fr. Dr. Anselm Jimoh, welcomed the Class and received the token they brought in appreciation, on behalf of the Rector, formators and seminarians. The presence of these noble men, indeed, served as encouragement to the seminarians still in formation, while it gave the formators some sense of fulfilment. Fr. Anselm Jimoh commended them for their growth and encouraged them to be faithful and obedient in their various apostolates. We wish them the very best and place them in the maternal care of our Blessed Mother Mary.
