The Covid-19 pandemic struck a great deal on the formation programme for the year 2020, as students had to vacate the Seminary abruptly on the 21st of March, 2020. Yet, the Seminary Community still received news of joy and progress, as some of her final year students were raised to the Order of Diaconate and Priesthood during the period when the national lockdown was gradually eased. Three candidates from the Diocese of Uromi (Revs. Osagie Samson, Ehimare Festus, and Odiana Joseph) were ordained deacons on the June 25th, 2020. One candidate from the Oblates of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Rev. Iranaeus Kelvin, OVM) was ordained on the 1st of August, 2020. The community of the Society of Africans Missions (SMA) also witnessed the elevation of five of her deacons to the Order of the Priesthood on the 11th of July and 29th of August, 2020; (Rev. Frs. Amos Quansah, Bernard Mulongo, Patrice Mayamba, Francois Thia Yao, Sunday Samuel Tsereku, Betrand Sinwenon). The Seminary Community congratulates them and the entire Year 7 Class for the gift of Ordination that they have received from God. May they be filled with graces necessary to be faithful ministers in the Lord’s vineyard.
