Reckoned as one of the priceless gifts of Christ to the Church, the priesthood remains a dignified office where men are chosen to act as intermediaries between God and His people. The 3rd day of December, 1994, witnessed the entrance of Rev. Anselm Bankole Jimoh into the Order of the Catholic Priesthood; a ministry he has offered his entire life to in total service to God and humanity. In appreciation for this sublime gift therefore, Rev. Fr. Anselm Jimoh offered thanks to God on the 3rd of December, 2019, as he marked the 25th Year of his Priestly Ordination Anniversary.

The Seminary of Saints Peter and Paul, Bodija, was not left out in celebrating such a landmark achievement, as she honoured Fr. Jimoh with a thanksgiving celebration on the 30th day of September, 2020 (the celebration was postponed from an earlier date due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic). The event began with the celebration of the Holy Mass at exactly 10am, with Rev. Fr. Anselm Jimoh as the Chief Celebrant. Present also were priests of various dioceses, consecrated persons, deacons, seminarians, friends and families of the celebrant. The homily at the mass was delivered by Rev. Fr. Joseph Iyamah, during which he appreciated the priestly office, thanked God for the life of the celebrant, and offered him words of encouragement as he continues his service to God and humanity.

The other half of the celebration, which had a social character, was organized in the Seminary Auditorium, immediately after the celebration of the Holy Mass. A book, titled Formation, The Catholic Priesthood and the Modern Age, was published as festschrift in honour of the celebrant. A review of the book was prepared and delivered by Rev. Fr. Stephen Ogbeiye during this other half of the cermony, and the book presentation was anchored by Prof. Bamidele Sanni. Fr. Jimoh also published another book titled Walking with Jesus, which he gave as souvenir for his anniversary. The event came to its close with a cheerful and joyous atmosphere, leaving its imprint on the hearts of many, especially the celebrant.
