Words alone are definitely insufficient to express the immense joy that filled the heart of our beloved Rector, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, who marked his 60^th birthday anniversary on the 8th of October, 2020. Fr. Ewherido, who is a priest of the Catholic Diocese of Warri, is the Rector Magnificus of the Great Ss. Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan. The beauty and joy that his life emits are invaluable, and he has blessed all those who have encountered him with the gift of himself for the past 60 years of his existence. In appreciation to God for the graces received all these years till now, Fr. Ewherido had a Mass of Thanksgiving with the Seminary Community in the morning of this day, wherein he was the Chief Celebrant and homilist. His words of encouragement and prayerful wishes to everyone were invaluable, as he further emphasized his thankfulness to God and to all those who have had positive impacts on his life, with special reference to Mother Bodija. Just before the close of the Mass, the Vice Rector, Rev. Fr. Anthony Igbekele, thanked God for the life of the celebrant, whose life has been impactful, not just to the Church but to the society at large. He then concluded by offering more prayers of fruitfulness to God, in honour of the celebrant.

The evening of this beautiful day witnessed the celebration of Sung Vespers; a solemn celebration of thanksgiving to God in honour of the celebrant. Afterwards, a Joint Dinner with the formators and all the students was held in the Seminary Refectory. During this ceremony, the entire Seminary Community had the privilege to appreciate the Rector, Rev. Fr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, for all he has been to the Church and to the Seminary especially. The entire seminary community is grateful to God for the gift of such a fine priest, whose life continues to be a model to many. May God bless and grant him more fruitful years in good health of mind and body. Amen.
