It is emphatically stated in the document, Unitatis Redintegratio (Decree on Ecumenism), that the restoration of unity among all Christians is one of the principal concerns of the Second Vatican Council. Therefore, through various avenues, the Churchhas continued to foster unity amongst the various Christian denominations, that they may truly be one.Similarly, the Seminary community, in her capacity to further achieve this aim, hosted theAnnual Ecumenical Service of Prayer for Christian Unity, on Monday, January 25th, 2021, under the theme: “Abide in my Love.”

The programme which started at about 4:00pm in the Seminary Chapel, and graced by seminarians from different religious congregations, in-house Seminarians, formators as well asthe members and staff of the Emmanuel College of Theology, Samonda, Ibadan, was presided over by Fr. He noted the difficult state of the Nation at this trying moment, as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, which is snuffing life out of the people of God, and the different societal situations emanating from prevailing threats that beset the Christian faith. He, therefore, emphasizedthe need for all of us, irrespective of our Creed, to unite and work under the banner of love.
