On the 10^th of December, 2021, the Papal Nuncio to Nigeria, Most Rev. Antonio Guido Filipazzi, paid a visit to ‘Great Bodija’. He was welcomed by the Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Ibadan, who is also the Chairman of the Seminary Commission, Most Rev. Gabriel ’Leke Abegunrin, all formators, staff and students of the seminary.

At an interactive session, which was held in the Seminary Auditorium, the Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Rev. Gabriel ’Leke Abegunrin welcomed him to Ibadan and to this Seminary, which has produced many priests, bishops and cardinals. He enjoined the Nuncio to enjoy the experience and the beautiful scenery of the Seminary. The Rector, Fr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, thanked God for the privileged opportunity for the Papal Nuncio to have an interactive session with the seminarians and expressed his gratitude to the Nuncio for including the seminary in his crowded program.

During the interactive session, the Nuncio responded to questions from the seminarians and gave them some pieces of advice to aid their formation process. He enjoined the students to make a theological vision of the faith and to take advantage of the spiritual formation, especially the individual spiritual formation. No doubt, it was an enriching engagement for the seminarians and for the entire Seminary community
