PROFESSOR ASUZU DELIVERS LECTURE ON HUMAN SEXUALITY
Wednesday, January 15, 2020

The promotion of the integral growth of candidates to the sacred priesthood is one of the fundamental aims of human formation. With this in mind, the formation programme of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, gives due attention to human formation, which is considered as one of the foundations of priestly formation. Hence, provisions are made for various platforms through which the candidates to the sacred priesthood are enlightened on their sexuality and assisted to develop a mature capacity for relations with men and women of various age and social conditions. The lecture on human sexuality, delivered yearly to the seminarians of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, by Professor Michael Asuzu, is one of those platforms, and the 2019/2020 edition was held on the 15th of January, 2020 at exactly 4:00pm. The lecture, which appears to be a ‘crash-course’ on sexuality addressed the intricacies of human anatomy, a profound understanding of sexuality, amidst others, all of which were also meant to help the seminarians appreciate the celibate state they long for in the catholic priesthood. At the end of the lecture, questions were raised and adequately responded to. The guest speaker was well-appreciated for his immense commitment to this noble cause, which he has sustained over the years.
