THE COMMUNITY OF SAINTS PETER AND PAUL, BODIJA, EXPRESSES SOLIDARITY WITH THE GOOD SHEPHERD MAJOR SEMINARY, KADUNA
Monday, February 10, 2020

The past few weeks have indeed been some of the most trying times for the entire community of Good Shepherd Major Seminary, Kaduna. This is coming after the bizarre kidnap of four of her seminarians on January 9, 2020 when gunmen invaded the seminary located at Kaukau in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Having undergone moments of torture and brutality for about three weeks in captivity, three of them were released, and one of them, Michael Nnadi, was gruesomely murdered. The deceased, who is said to have been a Philosophy One student of the Diocese of Sokoto, was just eighteen years of age (18) at the time of his death. The Church in Nigeria and sympathizers from all over the world, have expressed their sympathy and condolences to the seminary, the Diocese of Sokoto, and the family of our deceased brother. However, reactions, comments and declarations of disappointment concerning the ignoble state of insecurity in our country, Nigeria, have also been made on various platforms during this period. In solidarity with the entire community of Good Shepherd Major Seminary, the seminarians, staff and formators of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, have offered the Holy Mass and Prayers for consolation on the community and for the peaceful repose of our beloved brother, Michael. We, nevertheless, continue to pray for peace in our dear country Nigeria that is in a state of distress.
