The entire community of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, was left shattered with the demise of a member of its Spiritual formation team, in the person of Rev. Fr. Joseph Guzman, Opus Dei. The life of Fr. Joseph reflected the description of a priest as a gentleman, a scholar, and a saint. He was the Pioneer Chaplain of Whitesands School, Lekki, at its inception 20 years ago. He was later the Chaplain of Bodija Study Centre, Imoran Centre and Irawo University Centre–Private Halls of Residence for students of the University of Ibadan. Until his death, Fr. Joseph was one of the Spiritual Directors at Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, and his commitment to this delicate task is laudable. Having worked in Nigeria since the year 2000, Fr. Joseph Guzman had suffered a mild stroke in 2019, and had travelled back to Chile for his medicals in January, 2020. He was, however, called to eternal glory in the morning of the 8th of July, 2020, at the age of 62. May God reward him for all his efforts while on earth, grant him eternal rest and entrance into heaven. Amen.
