THE BEGINNING OF 2021/2022 ACADEMIC/FORMATION SESSION AND THE BLESSING OF THE REFURBISHED ST JOHNPAUL II BLOCK
Saturday, October 2, 2021

The 2nd of October, 2021, marked the resumption of the formators and students of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, for the 2021/2022 Academic/Formation Session. To their greatest astonishment, several developmental strides had been taken in the Seminary’s compound during the three months break. Prominent among these is the newly renovated St. John Paul II Block, newly painted and fixed. That was the fifth phase in the series of the modernization of the students’ toilets and bathrooms by the formation team, under the leadership of Fr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido, and financed partly by the students’ initiative fund.

As it is customary, no structure of such is to be used until it is blessed. In light of this, all students and formators gathered at St. John Paul II Block for the blessing, which was carried out by the Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, Most Rev. Gabriel ’Leke Abegunrin, who commended the rector and the team of formators for all their efforts in making the hostel habitable and comfortable for the students. In his remarks, the Rector, Fr. Anthony Ovayero Ewherido thanked the Archbishop for all he has been to the Seminary and prayed for the repose of the soul of Rev. Fr. Ezekiel Owoeye, who was very supportive in the affairs of the seminary. He also encouraged the students to make conscientious use of the new facilities. The hostel and facilities were officially declared open for use, following the blessings of the Archbishop.
