THE INDUCTION CEREMONY OF BODIJA SEMINARIANS INTO THE FRSC

Wednesday, 28th April, 2021, remains a memorable day for forty-one seminarians of Saints Peter and Paul Major Seminary, Bodija, Ibadan, who were inducted into the Federal Road Safety Corps. The event, whichtook place on the seminary field, began with the opening prayer, which was led by Rev. Benjamin Anthony, at about 12:00pm, thereafter the National Anthem and the Seminary Anthem were sung, respectively, by all present.  Present at the induction ceremony were some officials of the Federal Road Safety Corp, some Formators and students of the seminary, who were there to grace the occasion.

In her opening remarks, Commander Bolanle Amoiefmo, commended the new cadets for their bravery, courage, gallantry and their beautiful and smart outfit. While she congratulated them for taking the bold step to become members of the Federal Road Safety Corps,she equally seized the opportunity to admonish the plebes of the corpsof what is expected of them as club members. In this light, she encouraged them to be great ambassadors, notjust of the Christian faith, which they profess, but also as members of the club, who will propagate the basic tenets, values and objectives of the club to the entire society. In like manner, the Moderator of Students’ Affairs, Fr. Kenneth Adesina, appreciated the Corps officers for their collaboration with the seminary over the years. He equally highlighted the significant roles played by member of the club in the seminary especially during the Christmas carols and other major events within and outside the Seminary. Afterwards,the Parade Commander, Cadet Odii Benjamin, led Commander Amoifemo and Officer Otu, to inspect the physical fitness of the gallant fresh men on the parade. This was immediately followed by theparade match, and the oath of office, sworn by the cadets,which was conducted by Officer Otu.

Thevote of thanks was given by the Commander in Chief, Mr. Ogundana Festus, after which the closing prayer was led by Rev. Andrew Gboru, and was followed by the match-off of the parade accompanied with drums and trumpets.
