The veracity of the fact that formators are gifts to seminaries and to the Church at large is indeed indubitable. For, in obedience to the mission of the Church – the propagation of the Gospel message to the ends of the earth – they greatly offer their being in dedication and total service to the formation of candidates for the Catholic Priesthood. This sums up the reason for the celebration of formators at remarkable moments in their life, as evident in the celebration of three of our seminary formators; Rev. Frs. Francis Adedara, Anthony Igbekele and Damian Ilodigwe, on the 22nd of November, 2017, in honour of the 25th anniversary of their priestly ordination. The seminary community, in appreciation for the immense contributions of these icons to priestly formation, began with the celebration of the Holy Mass at 10a.m. The Mass had Rev. Fr. Francis Adedara as the Chief celebrant, flanked by Rev. Frs. Anthony Igbekele and Damian Ilodigwe, as well as the presence of various priests, religious and lay faithful, who came to celebrate the gift of the priesthood with them. Following this was a group photograph in front of St. Peter’s Block, and an entertaining session in honour of the celebrants at the seminary auditorium.
